I've been teaching languages for over 15 years. I also used to work as a Business Analyst and IT Project Manager in London.
I've taught General English to students of all ages and levels (A1-C2). Having studied French and German at university, I understand language learning from a student's perspective too.
What I love about my job is getting to know people from all around the world and hearing more about different places and cultures.
My business background helps when I teach Business English and when it comes to Exam Preparation, I specialise in Cambridge English exams.
What can I say? Teaching and Learning are two sides of the same coin and I enjoy doing both. I won't list everything here but my qualifications include:
- BA(Hons) in French and German
- Certificate in Management Studies
- Post Graduate Certificate in Education
- and I've almost finished the Diploma in TESOL.
Outside of work, I support Translators Without Borders and I volunteer for TutorMate to help school children with literacy skills.
Walking my dog along the beach or by the river is the best way for me to unwind. She's a rescue dog, who is very happy that I'm currently working from home.
I love travelling too, particularly around Europe, but my chances of doing that are limited at the moment.
I'm also discovering a new hobby, which is DIY (do it yourself); painting, decorating, putting up shelves, upcycling old furniture... I recently moved house, so that's why I'm doing more of this now.
